Thomas E. Lovejoy Prize for Conservation in the Amazon Basin
Dr. Thomas Lovejoy — who coined the term “biodiversity” — was a world-renowned conservation biologist who dedicated his life to preserving the Amazon and educating policymakers and the public about the importance of biodiversity in our everyday lives. The Bezos Earth Fund is joining a group of leading NGOs and donors to create the Lovejoy Prize, which will support conservation in the Amazon by creating a prize that will be presented annually to a leading conservationist working in the Amazon.
