Catherine Zuckerman is Editorial Manager at the Bezos Earth Fund. In this role, she shapes the Earth Fund’s storytelling, highlighting thought leadership, grantee impact, and the organization’s overall narrative.
Prior to joining the Earth Fund communications team, Catherine was a senior writer at Long Story Short Media (LSS), a woman-owned, D.C. – based creative agency, where she helped a range of clients, from Google to USAID, tell their most important stories to reach a variety of audiences for the biggest possible impact.
Before LSS, Catherine was a staff writer at National Geographic Magazine for more than a decade. Working there, alongside some of the world’s most acclaimed journalists, taught her that great storytelling requires the ability to listen carefully, report accurately, and translate complicated jargon into engaging prose. When combined, these elements have the power to open readers’ minds as well as hearts.
Catherine has written for many other prominent publications, including the New York Times and the Washington Post. She has also been published multiple times in Nature Conservancy Magazine. A lifelong lover of language and die-hard believer in the power of words, she holds a B.A. in French from Siena College.
