Patricia León

Associate Director for Nature Conservation

Patricia serves as the Associate Director for Nature Conservation, where she develops strategies and builds partnerships to deliver high impact conservation opportunities. She engages with governments, grantees, and the donor community to identify opportunities and helps manage the Bezos Earth Fund's nature conservation portfolio.

Patricia has 15 years of experience managing conservation and sustainable development projects. She believes in the power of consensus building tools to generate sound conservation outcomes. Prior to joining Re:wild, Patricia worked with multilateral organizations, bilateral aid programs, NGOs and government to design climate smart policy and environmental programs. Patricia spent 5 years as CDKN’s Caribbean Program Manager, a UK government sponsored global initiative, where she focused on mainstreaming climate into multisectoral policy. 

At Island Conservation’s Latin America office, she spent 4 years leading multilateral program design, and management for island restoration. Patricia also spent 3 years working for the World Bank Group, addressing issues related to conflict prevention and resolution. Finally, she joined government to serve as an Advisor to the Governor of Galapagos Islands, were she held public consultations and policy design on multiple environmental issues. Patricia holds a Master’s in International Development Policy from Duke University and a B.A. in Environmental Economics from Emmanuel College.
